Dennis’ early years in business were in marketing with Johnson & Johnson, where he grew many of their familiar brands to record sales and market share. His work there was featured in publications including The New York Times and BrandWeek. As Vice President of Marketing at PlanetRx.com, he led the company as it grew to one hundred million dollars in revenues in its first year after its one billion dollar public offering. At Robert Mondavi Inc., he rose to Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing and ultimately Chief Operating Officer for the then publicly-traded, global wine company. After the merger of Robert Mondavi with Constellation Brands, he went on to become President of AgraQuest, Inc., a biotech developing transformative technologies for the commercialization of safe and effective pesticides. Throughout his career, and in each of these roles, Dennis consistently demonstrated an ability to build high performance teams that delivered positive business results and organizational improvement. He has hired executives at all levels, both as a hiring manager and as an executive recruiter.
Dennis received his B.A. from Georgetown University, M.B.A. from The University of Michigan, and also studied at the University of Oxford in England. An avid sports fan, and sometime participant, he played for Georgetown’s junior varsity basketball team. Today he is happy to ride his road bike around western Marin and the greater Bay Area, and recently completed his fourth century ride. He has served on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of San Francisco, the Board of Directors of the Wine Market Council, and the Board of Governors of Georgetown University.
Michael Joyce recently joined the Joyce Group after an accomplished 35 year career in the food and beverage industry, most recently with PepsiCo, Inc.. He has led and been a part of numerous teams throughout his career, and this experience instilled in him the belief that great people working together for a common cause are the single most critical success factor for driving exceptional results in an organization.
Michael started his career working for a family business, Joyce Beverages, Inc., a $250M manufacturer and distributor of many familiar soft drink brands including Seven-Up and Dr Pepper. In a variety of sales and marketing roles, this early experience provided exposure to the hyper-competitive beverage industry, an industry that would be a constant in his professional career. Upon the sale of Joyce Beverages, Michael joined the soft drink division of Austin, Nichols & Co., which was owned by Pernod-Ricard Group. As Vice President of Sales he helped launch an innovative, new product, Orangina, in the United States and Canada. This experience ultimately led Michael to a 25 year career at PepsiCo where he held numerous sales leadership positions. These various experiences ranged from General Manager of bottling and distribution operations to Vice President/Senior Director of national and regional accounts.
Throughout his career, Michael established a track record of delivering short and long term revenue and profit growth, with a focus on leading by example and motivating teams to exceed expectations. Michael received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of the Holy Cross, and remains involved as a member of the school’s President’s Council. Michael participates in numerous cancer related fundraising organizations including Swim Across America and American Cancer Society.
Pam manages the firm’s Administrative and Accounting operations, and works directly with both clients and candidates during a number of important stages of the recruiting process. Pam has twenty years’ experience working for a variety of global organizations, most recently as a Development Director at Room to Read where she spent six years helping build a fundraising base that increased six-fold to support literacy and gender equality in the developing world.
Prior to joining Room to Read, Pam worked in a variety of positions for the Asia Society, an international organization dedicated to strengthening relationships and deepening understanding among the peoples of Asia and the U.S. In addition to serving as founding Executive Director of the Asia Society Northern California, she has worked with the Asia Foundation and Eisenhower Exchange Fellowships developing deep experience in fundraising, strategic planning, programming, membership and board development. Pam received a M.A. in Asian Studies from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in International Relations from Georgetown University.
Jack provides marketplace intelligence and supports a number of important stages of the recruiting process, working directly with candidates and maintaining important client documents. Jack also manages the firm’s extensive database of talent — one of the most robust networks of talent in the world. He handles all data entry and ensures continuous maintenance and security of both client and candidate information.
Jack comes to Joyce Group after a year conducting research for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He studied English Literature at the College of the Holy Cross, where he was founder of the Tennis and Basketball Club programs, requiring significant organizational and leadership skills. Jack’s ability to organize and inspire teams around a common goal has been a large part of his success at Joyce Group.
